General Questions

1. What is ManyOf.Me?

ManyOf.Me is a tool that uses census data and statistics to estimate how many people in the United States share your exact first and last name.

2. Is this information accurate?

Our estimates are based on real data, but they are not exact counts. The accuracy of the estimates depends on the data source (census and Social Security data) and the rarity of the name combination.

3. Will the data be updated?

Absolutely! We plan to update the last name data with the 2020 US Census information once it's released.

Data Sources

1. Where does the data come from?

We use two primary data sources:

  • Last Names: Estimates are based on the 2010 US Census data. (We'll update this with the 2020 data when available.)
  • First Names: Estimates are based on Social Security Administration data up to 2023 for a more current picture.
2. Why is the data source different for first and last names?

Social Security data provides a more recent snapshot of name popularity for first names.
